Dipl.-Ing., studied mechanical engineering with a focus on manufacturing
technology at the RWTH Aachen and spent three years at the Faculty of
Production Engineering of the “Laboratory for Machine Tools and Production
Engineering” (WZL) in Aachen. After his university studies, he headed the
hardware quality division of the company IIC Intersport Far East Ltd. in
Hong Kong, China and Taiwan for two and a half years. For the following five
years, he worked as a freelance technical and cultural consultant and
representative for a number of foreign companies at their production sites,
predominantly in China. His interests cover all areas of mechanical
