MATHIAS MÖNSTER, Dr.-Ing., studied
electrical engineering and physics at the Technical University Aachen (RWTH
Aachen). During his studies he spent time as an intern at Mitsubishi
Electric Corp. in Japan for six months, where he was involved in the
development of optoelectronic semiconductor devices. He completed his
diploma thesis at the Institute of Semiconductor Electronics at the RWTH
Aachen in optical microring resonators. After graduating he joined the
Max-Born-Institute, in Berlin, where he worked towards his doctoral degree
in compact femtosecond laser sources based on microstructure fibers. His
special interests include semiconductor technology, photonics,
nanotechnology and communication engineering.Member, BOEHMERT & BOEHMERT
