KLAUS BEHRNDTDipl. Phys. Dr., (German Patent Attorney, European Patent and Trade Mark Attorney) studied Physics at the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-University Greifswald and at the Humboldt-University Berlin. In his Diploma thesis he investigated boundary effects in quantum field theories and for phase transitions. After his PhD in theoretical high energy physics (string theory) he held postdoctoral positions with the Deutsche Elektronensynchrotron Hamburg, the Humboldt-University Berlin and the LMU Munich. In addition, he had fellowships with the Stanford University (USA), the California Institute of Technology (Pasadena, USA) and the Max-Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics in Potsdam. His particular interests relate to telecommunications, semiconductor technology and optoelectronics.
