JAKOB VALVODA, Dipl.-Inform. Dr. rer.
nat., studied computer science at the RWTH Aachen University, Germany and at
the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL). After finishing
his diploma he was involved in research on interactive immersive media in
the areas of medical sciences and neurosciences and founded the Life Science
team within the Virtual Reality group at RWTH Aachen University. In his
doctoral thesis he has researched real time simulation of virtual human
models and their neuropsychological influence on users of Virtual Reality.
His special interests are in the field of medical engineering, image
processing and computer graphics, as well as human-computer interaction.
