DR. GERALD KLÖPSCH Dipl.-Chem., Dr.-Ing., (German Patent Attorney,
European Patent and Trade Mark Attorney) studied chemistry at the University of Halle/Saale and at the
Technical Universities of Aachen and Darmstadt, where he obtained his doctor's degree in chemical
engineering after three years lecturing as an assistant professor. He was engaged in R&D in organic
chemistry, particularly organo-metallic compounds and the structure of alkaloid bases. As a German Patent
Attorney since 1967 and a European Patent Attorney since 1978 he has practised in all fields of
chemistry as well as in chemical engineering. He was lecturer on patent law and documentation at the
University of Dortmund and served as a member of the board of the Institute of German Patent Attorneys
and is honorary judge in the Senate for Patent Attorneys' matters of the Federal Supreme Court in
Karlsruhe.
