FRITZ JETZEK, Dipl.-Inf., received his
degree in informatics at the University of Hamburg. During his studies, he
worked in close cooperation with a Hamburg-based company in the
biotechnology sector on the processing of microscopy cell images, and
subsequently worked in Greece as a fellow of the
Marie-Curie-Research-Training-Network (MCRTN) of the European Union. His
primary interests are image processing and artificial intelligence as well
as topics at the intersection of informatics and biology, and software and
