CHRISTIAN APPELT Dipl.-Phys. (German Patent Attorney, European Patent
and Trade Mark Attorney) studied physics majoring in Solid State Physics at the University of
Erlangen-Nürnberg. He specialised in semiconductor and photovoltaic technology. During a 2 year stay in
Japan he studied Japanese at the "Tokyo School of the Japanese Language" for a year and worked for a
further year, first with a patent attorneys office in Osaka, then with the Patent Department of Ebara
Corporation and with the Intellectual Property Department of Sony Corporation in Tokyo.
